So with DrunkenGamer created there was only one thing left to do, Introduce him to the locals and get to work.

Being Human this meant the folks in and around Northshire abbey. The first person I bump into is poor old Deputy Willem, his primary duty seems to be to see that everyone knowns that Marshall McBride was the guy that you really needed to talk too. After meeting the Marshall,  I learn that apparently the area has a rather nasty Kobol infestation. The mine in particular has had to be shut down because it was overrun by the little candle loving buggers.

On my way to the mine I have a quick chat with a local merchant called Eagan Peltskinner who wants me to help cull the local wolf population, in return he offers me a new pair of boots. Now the wolves have not bothered me really, but an upgrade is an upgrade and as a result the wolves must be killed.

After a small massacre I manage to pick myself up a few minor upgrades, a cloak, some new bracers & obviously the new boots Eagan had promised me.

Of all these items the one that pleases me the most is the cloak. Its a personal thing with fantasy games that I play, but there is always one item that I must have before it feels like the character is actually out of its creation phase. In Warcraft its the cloak, I don’t know why, but that’s just the way it is.

At this point I decide that I really should talk to my trainer, she has passed notes to other NPC’s to send me over there for a while now. Firstly she tells me she can teach me some new abilities, which is good.

What came as a bit of a shock is that since the last time I tried to do this challenge, Blizzard had removed the quest that was required to get my first minion and made it a base spell. While this on the whole is a good thing, however I did feel the quest made it feel more like you had earned the minion.

Fortunately I still have a backup of the blogpost and as it was entertaining, I’m going to quote it for you here.

But more importantly she wants me to go and recover some book for her, in return she will teach me how to summon my first minion!

Damn it, had a realise that was what she wanted I’d have done that as the very first thing.  Disregarding all the other locals I dash off into the heart of Defias territory on the other side of the river.

My word, what exactly have the local defence team been up to? This place is even more crowded than I remember. It’s as if the only people keeping this bunch in check and the lack of new players coming through this area has resulted in a population boom. Never mind, I suppose I can fix that, Let the Slaughter begin!

Making short work of these poor little guys, I kill one after another of them on my way to a specific tent at the back corner of their territory. A few minutes later I see my target, the ever handy sparkles they added a long time ago to gatherable items showing me exactly what I was after. But the tent is surrounded by three Defias, and you can guarantee that they are linked and the moment I attack one they will all be after me. Oh well, I have no other choice. I get myself to my maximum range, plan is to make sure at least one of them has snuffed it before they reach me.
