It almost works the first one shuffles of the mortal coil mere seconds after reaching me, but I dont have time to be happy. Quickly I switch targets and get to work on the second, it’s going well till all of a sudden – Damn, out of mana! I start wildly stabbing, hopefully I will regain enough mana for the third while I finish this one off.
As the second pops his clogs, without hesitating start the assault on the third – im down to the last few seconds of my health, if im to survive he has to go down fast. I quickly burn what little mana I have and take a decent chunk of his health but he’s still kicking, damn this isnt good. I start stabbing again, watching both health bars go down at a similar rate, but he has more health left. When im down to my last few hp I realise I have enough mana for one last shadow bolt, Crit – hes down. I check my health 3hp left it doesnt get much closer.
I Grab the book, quickly grab a health top up and then get the hell out of there. I have been asked to take out a few more of the Defias, but I decided that it would be better to get myself some backup. I make a beeline back to Drusilla La Salle. She takes the book and with that I finally become a real warlock, my first minion!
See what I mean? Well that will actually be the last reference to the earlier attempt at this challenge – simply because even if I wanted to reference it again, I have no backups of any of the rest of it.
After learning to summon my minion, an Imp called Belyal, I get back to helping out the locals of Northshire.
The last few tasks that are left in the area are related to the massive Defias force that has effectively taken control of the local vineyard. Deputy Willem wants me to thin their numbers a little, which is actually a wise move. At the same time one of the other locals also wants you to grab some of the grapes that she had to leave behind when fleeing the Defias.
Now that I have Belyal with me these guys are like lambs too the slaughter and plow our way through them without a much of a challenge. In fact towards the end I actually started getting a bit over ambitious, pulling several at a time. This nearly backfired on me when, without realising, I had 4 of the buggers to contend with at once.
That was a close call, but we made it.
The very last quest we had to do in the area was pick off the leader of the Defias scum, Garrick Padfoot, in the hopes that without a leader they will just fall apart and leave. Again this appears to be another area that Blizzard have streamlined for new users, it used to be that the thugs around him were linked. This meant that the moment you attacked him they would also attack you.
Now it seems he has to fight alone and unluckily for him, me and Belyal waste no time at all whooping his sorry little ass.

With that we are done with Northshire abbey, we have dealt with both Kobol and Defias infestations, and can now leave happy in the knowledge that the locals are safe. Onwards to GoldShire!
Before I go however, I do have to take the time to point out that I had also forgotten all about the NightElf Mohawk advertising campaign. So when I bumped into one just outside the abbeys entrance, I literally laughed out loud. So you can join in the fun, I will leave you with a shot of the DrunkenGamer under the effect of the Mohawk Grenade.
