Cargasm levels most photorealistic “in the history of videogames”

Developers of newly announced racing title Cargasm claim that its levels set in London are the most photorealistic “in the history of videogames”.

Candella Software used lasers to scan buildings in the English capital, making the game representation accurate to within inches.

A spokesperson from Candella, who developed game such as Stubbs the Zombie and Juiced, said: “This level of accuracy means that every window, doorway, balcony and lamp post is exactly as it is in the real city.”

Starcraft II Tops UK Charts

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, Blizzard’s hotly anticipated sequal to the classic RTS,  has taken the number one spot in the UK videogames chart, selling a massive 1.5million units in its first 48 hours.

Released worldwide simultaneously, Starcraft II has managed to sell more than its predecessor did in its lifetime.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment said: “We launched StarCraft II in 11 different languages and on 5 different continents because we wanted to make sure as many players as possible were able to log on and play on day one.”

Digimon Battle Q&A

Earlier this year, the lovely folks at WeMade brought us Digimon Battle for the PC, a pretty unique 2D MMORPG based on, you guessed it, the well known Digimon series. You play as a Digimon tamer and you team up with good Digimon to save the world from the bad Digimon.

We were able to talk to Estelle Kim, the product manager over at WeMade, about Digimon Battle to learn more about how the game works, what there is in the game, and really what the game is all about.

Who are you targeting with Digimon Battle?

Digimon Battle is meant to be enjoyed by Digimon fans of all ages. Players can participate in battles without intense violent actions or graphics, so it’s appropriate for young players as well. The game was created to be a turn-based format so players of all skill levels can play at their own pace and still find gameplay engaging, all in a safe environment that encourages respect and collaboration among players. Arkham City Coming Fall 2011

bac_logoplate_bws_f1_white_copy Warner Bros have recently announced the sequel to much loved Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City. Being developed by Rocksteady Studios, we have been told to expect the sequel to come to 360, PS3 and PC around Autumn 2011.

Batman: Arkham City will build upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. (more…)

Modern Warfare 2 Demo Released

For those of you who’ve been living under a rock, in a secret nuclear bunker 3 miles south of Chipping Norton (we’re looking at you Osama), MW2 now has a playable single player demo for you to get your greasy mitts on.

In the demo you play the Cliffhanger mission from the game. Being one of the best levels in Modern Warfare 2, Cliffhanger thrusts players into an epic fight of a lifetime amid near-blinding snowstorm conditions high in the frigid mountains of Kazakhstan. One wrong move and it’s certain death as players scale a frozen mountainside, battle their way through a raging firefight, and race for survival aboard a snowmobile under heavy enemy fire. (more…)

Worms Reloaded Set For Late August Release

The original Worms titles were very popular and appealing to PC gamers. Selling in excess of 25 million copies over its 15 year lifespan, Worms has taken its wholly unique brand of addictive gameplay, hilarious humour and wild weaponry across almost every console possible, and on 26th August it will be returning to the PC with the latest title.

The Sims Goes Medieval

Recently EA announced The Sims Medieval, a new series currently in development that places the popular Sims characters into the Middle Ages and brings players robust and compelling gameplay never seen before in the history of The Sims.
