Second World for Pandora Saga

LEGO MMO Coming Soon!

lu_logo_yellow_grey_gradient_outline The LEGO Group have announced plans for an upcoming free-to-play offering in LEGO® Universe.

Beginning this August, the free-to-play option will welcome players to try LEGO Universe for free, as long as they like, before deciding whether or not to become paid members. Also, players will no longer need to invest in the game DVD to play LEGO Universe. The game will be available via free digital download only.

“The LEGO Group remains committed to success in the digital space and to LEGO Universe,” said Jesper Vilstrup, Vice President, the LEGO Group. “We see LEGO Universe as a key element for our digital play division, and are adjusting the business model to make the game more accessible to players, without the immediate obligation to purchase or subscribe.”

LEGO Universe will continue to generate revenue through paid memberships, and there are no plans for micro-transactions at this time. Players can try out the free-to-play zone for an unlimited period of time, and can pay $10 per month to become a LEGO Universe member and receive full game access. Those who sign up for extended memberships will continue to receive discount pricing. (more…)

Terra Militaris: First Huge Expansion Announced

Gala Networks Europe, operator of the www.gPotato.eu portal, is delighted to announce the first major expansion for Terra Militaris, which will be rolled out across all servers in the upcoming weeks. The expansion “Conquest” brings with it a wealth of new content and an expansive list of fixes and tweaks across every aspect of Terra Militaris’ sophisticated MMORTS design.

New gameplay content comes in the form of Trials of the Champion, a new instance for high-level players. As the most significant instance to be included so far in Terra Militaris, Trials of the Champion contains 50 levels of play and can be challenged once every 24 hours.

Each level of the instance will give players fame, EXP and items on completion and with 50 levels to be defeated, Trials of the Champion is an excellent raid for players looking to vastly increase their fame when aiming for the Domination or Imperial Eras in Terra Militaris’ end-game. (more…)

Fifa 12 Kicks Off September 30th

EA has announced that FIFA 12 will be released on September 30th in the UK and Europe.

It will arrive a few days earlier in the US – on September 27th.

The PC version will release alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 SKUs and EA has promised that, unlike in recent years, the PC game will be up to spec with its console counterparts. (more…)

Game In A Day!

prelimse GIAD (a.k.a Game In A Day) is a series of free games created in only one day or less by Prelimse Studios.

A new game will be created and a timelapse will be uploaded to the Prelimse Studios Youtube page, every Monday.

Their first one-day game is a 2d scrolling game to put your multitasking abilities to the test. It is playable in your web browser thanks to the Unity3D web plugin and is available at Kongregate and the Prelimse Studios website. (more…)

Hacking Suspect ‘To Be Examined for Sony Data’

playstation_network Scotland Yard confirms arrested man’s link with LulzSec; won’t rule out involvement in PSN breach.

The teenager arrested in connection with a recent craze of website hacks will have his possessions examined for evidence linking him to the PSN attack, Scotland Yard has said.

The Metropolitan Police today arrested a 19 year-old Essex man in connection with a wave of website security breaches.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that the suspect was specifically charged in connection with a DDOS attack on the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) website. (more…)

Professor Layton Coming to Facebook

professor-layton-and-the-lost-future_4b61 The popular Nintendo DS puzzle adventure series Professor Layton is making the leap to social game platforms.

Developer Level-5 has struck a deal with Japanese casual gaming company DeNA to bring Professor Layton Royale to its Mobage mobile portal. The firms made the announcement during a joint press conference in Tokyo today, reports Andriasang.

Players will be able to control a detective, thief or a citizen in the social game which is a crossover between the Layton franchise and the Kaito Royale series. (more…)

Off the GRID?

codemasterslogo Just three years after it hit retail Codemasters has shut down the online servers for Race Driver: Grid.

The move only relates to the PS3 and PC versions of the title. The Xbox 360 servers will continue to operate as normal.

“After three years of service, 2008’s Race Driver: GRID’s online play service has been discontinued for the PS3 and PC editions of the game,” the company confirmed. (more…)
