Avenger controller coming to PS3

avenger Peripherals firm N-Control is releasing a PS3 version of its bizarre Avenger controller later this year.

The device is technically an external adapter that houses the existing Sony joypad, adding a number of new controls that will help gamers react to in-game situations quicker.

Through a series of levels, pulleys and straps, the Avenger allows users to use all triggers and shoulder buttons with their thumbs. These can all be customised to make them even more responsive.

The PS3 Avenger will be released in November and can now be pre-ordered via N-Control’s website. It will retail for $48.99 and only 5,000 units will be available worldwide.

A similar adapter is already available for the Xbox 360 controller. (more…)

Not only are these element experiments appearing in this for the first time, but this title from the award-winning Crazy Machines series (German Game Developer Award, German Computer Games Award, “Giga-Maus”) is also making its debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Japanese Retailers Phasing out Xbox360?

xbox360logo Leading Japanese games retailers have reportedly confirmed plans to phase out support for Xbox 360.

According to Edge, Japanese Xbox 360 hardware sales year-to-date are down 46.7% to 72,721 units (about a tenth of PS3’s total), causing many Japanese stockists to contemplate dropping Microsoft’s console altogether.

The site says: “Geo, the nation’s largest specialist retailer, is drastically scaling back its Xbox 360 business.”

“Staff at electronics retailer Yamada Denki in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, confirmed that the company is removing hardware and software from the majority of its stores nationwide, and is selling off its remaining stock at a heavy discount.” (more…)

Serious Sam 3: BFE Gets A Trailer

ss3-bfe-2 Forget everything you are doing and watch this trailer. If you have played any other of the games in the Serious Sam franchise then after seeing this you will salivating with anticipation.

The trailer showcases some of the stunning new visuals that accompany Serious Sam 3, along with the new modes of decapitation and weapons on offer, some of which look brutally good.

Zombie Restaurant Released on iOS Devices

mzl-cpktlytw-320x480-75 CyberAgent America, Inc., has released Zombie Restaurant on iOS devices. Zombie Restaurant is currently available on the iOS App Store in English and Japanese.

‘Zombie Restaurant’ is a restaurant management game where players must feed zombies to prevent them from overtaking the town. The games ranked in the top 10 free games in App Store in the U.S. market.

Jurassic Park Bursts on to the Scene Like a Rampaging T-Rex

The design team behind the Jurassic Park game were all fans of the original series and this can make all of the difference when doing a movie to video game crossover.

Working with people from Universal and palaeontologists, this game has the makings of being the first one that really feels like you are on the island.

Dark Souls Bartholomew Trailer Showcased

dark-souls-logo Dark Souls is the game by FromSoftware that has evolved from the PS3 game Demon’s Souls, known notoriously for being devilishly hard. A new trailer showcases some of the horrific enemies you will face.

Featuring enemies such as a large beast made from skulls, a giant rat and a large wolf with a sword, the player will surely have their hands full. Like the promotional material says, prepare to die. A lot.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine Gets Four New Trailers

The series of trailers entitled “Dark Future”, depict the struggles the human race have gone through and what drives the Space Marines forward in the Warhammer universe.

Kinect Lightsaber Spotted!

epidsode-i-lightsaber-duel Whatever your feelings about Kinect Star Wars, only the coldest of hearts could fail to be excited about this news.

Eurogamer reports that two German retailers have listed a lightsaber peripheral that is Kinect compatible and designed to work with Microsoft’s upcoming Kinect Star Wars.

It is said to have a light effect but, strangely, not take any batteries.

Prices are currently around the EURO 16 point.

Although the game will not require the use of a controller or accessory, as Kinect tracks a user’s body there is in theory nothing to stop a user holding any object they like in their hands. (more…)
