The Cursed Crusade – Review

5179 The Cursed Crusade launches you back to the time of the Fourth Crusade during the early 13th Century.

It all revolves around co-operative combat, putting an Army of Two style focus on you and your partner battling your way through various stages together while using all manner of weapons, from swords and maces, to axes and spears. When playing a Serious Sam title, players have come to expect more carnage than you can shake a sledgehammer at; the newest installment in the franchise, Serious Sam 3: BFE, is no different. During beta testing I found myself loving every satisfying splatter, blood spray, and explosion.

This game makes most shooters look like a walk in the FPS park, and it’s hard to wipe a grin off your face as you mow down wave after wave of ill-tempered baddies. I was once told that to enjoy life you need to ‘embrace the chaos’; well, to enjoy SS3 you need to not only embrace the chaos, but own it. (more…)

Leading video game publishers and developers NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe and Ubisoft today announced that Ezio Auditore from the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed series will be a playable guest character in SOULCALIBUR V for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360.

This monumental collaboration will let players control Ezio and his wide range of assassination tools including a Roman Longsword, Stiletto, Crossbow, Hidden gun and his trademark Hidden blade.

Doom 4 and Gloom? – Update

doom Three years after it was first announced a dark cloud now hangs over id’s long-awaited Doom 4.

Kotaku claims to have word from a source close to publisher Bethesda that parent company Zenimax has decided to “indefinitely postpone” development of the game.

The decision is said to stem from concerns at both Zenimax and Bethesda about the mixed reviews of recent release Rage, as well as the technical problems that muddied the launch.

These factors have culminated in “a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id,” the site claims. (more…)

1000 Tiny Claws Out Now

mediatonic Mediatonic has announced that 1000 Tiny Claws, its third PlayStation minis game for PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3, is now available to download from PSN.

1000 Tiny Claws sees Rana having to save her captain and crew from the hangman’s noose after a judge rules that they’re responsible for unleashing a swarm of insects that threaten to bring about the apocalypse.

To save her crew, as well as the small matter of saving the world, Rana has to clear a series of floating islands by making sure the infernal enemies infesting each stage fall to their deaths. (more…)
