Starting October 18, players can visit the historical Cappadocia, armed with new weapons while playing new characters.

Ex-Rare Quartet Form Indie Outfit

A team of four experienced Rare developers have emerged under command of a new independent studio, called Starfire Studios.

Designer Chris Tilston, programmer Mark Edmonds and artists Ross Bury and Phil Dunne had worked at Rare for more than ten years each before quitting to form their own company. (more…)

Final Fantasy XIV version 2.0 revealed, coming to PS3 in 2012

ffxiv-2-0 Square Enix is to give troubled MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV a complete overhaul as part of a version 2.00 update scheduled for release next year.

Final Fantasy XIV wasn’t given the warmest of welcomes when it launched, with fans and reviewers complaining about its atrocious interface and poor technical performance.

PC Gamer awarded it 30 percent, saying “it is so deeply flawed that I can’t even see how future updates could redeem it.” (more…)

Arkham City’s Online Pass grants access to Catwoman

batman-and-catwoman-arkham-city Publisher Warner Interactive has confirmed exactly what content is has locked behind the Online Pass included in new copies of Batman: Arkham City.

Inputting the code will grant access to the playable character Catwoman, who comes complete with her own moves, weapons and four additional story scenes.

She’ll also be usable as a playable character in the Riddler’s Revenge mode.

Those who buy a pre-owned version of the game can buy a separate Online Pass for either 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or £7.99 on PSN, Eurogamer reports.

Warner adds that playing as Catwoman is not required to complete the main game. (more…)

GTA III coming to Smartphones

gta3_logo_04 It’s ten years since the release of seminal PS2 classic Grand Theft Auto III and to celebrate Rockstar Games has announced that the 3D action title is coming to smartphones.

It’s due to hit both iOS and Android some time this autumn. Compatibility has been confirmed with iPad 2, iPhone 4S, Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy X2, Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Owners of older iOS devices, including the iPhone 4, are sadly set to miss out. (more…)
