Battlefield 3: Gulf of Oman gameplay trailer reveals combat vehicles

shootout_02 EA has sent over a new trailer for Battlefield 3’s Back to Karkand expansion pack.

Focusing on the re-imagined Gulf of Oman map, the gameplay movie reveals a number of vehicles you will be able to strap yourself into come December.

The three combat vehicles returning from Battlefield 2 in Back to Karkand are the STOVL fighter jet, desert buggy and one of the armoured personnel carriers. (more…)

Chronicles of Merlin: One of the Most Active BBG Communities!

chronicles-of-merlin-official-logo While many Browser Based Games (BBG) communities seem to be shrinking, Chronicles of Merlin looks to be on the rise.

Chronicles of Merlin, the Free to Play Strategy MMO, where players fight against both fictional and non-fictional heroes of Europe, seems to have an abundance of activities and a large player community.

There are many activities for players to take part in, such as in game Events, which range from weekly to daily.

They also have weekend events which create a competitive and lively atmosphere during the weekends, when most players are playing. In addition to these they have the very popular Battle Report event, where players show off their own battles to vie for great prizes. (more…)

Skyrim PS3 patch released, reportedly fixes lag

elder-scrolls-5-skyrim-trailer-screenshot-dragon-fight There’s no official word or patch notes we can find, but players are reporting that Bethesda has released an update for the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which fixes the game-ruining lag many have encountered.

The problem, which only appears to have affected the PS3 version of the game, rears its ugly head once players have racked up a large amount of hours with the game and built up big save files. (more…)

Uncharted 3 Aiming Patch Now Live

uncharted-3-image Remember that Uncharted 3 patch that was going to fix the aiming? It’s live now.

Along with a bunch of other tweaks and fixes, the new 1.02 update adds “Alternate Aim Settings” to the options menu under camera settings, but will only apply to the single-player game.

We first got word of complaints at the beginning of the month, when users took to the forums to voice their concerns about what they perceived to be “clunky” and “sluggish” gunplay. (more…)

Bulletstorm Dev Working on Gears Prequels?

gears-of-war-3-wallpaper-13 A new Gears of War trilogy is rumoured to be in the works under development at Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly.

The latest issue of OXM US, reported via CVG, suggests the Bulletstorm developer will be working on several prequels for Microsoft’s popular Xbox 360 shooter series.

It’s worth noting People Can Fly is owned by current Gears of War developer Epic Games. The former was also responsible for the PC version of the original Gears of War in 2007. (more…)

xbox-360 Microsoft has announced a number of Black Friday Xbox Live deals, which are only available today.

Kicking off the Christmas shopping season on the digital marketplace, there’s 25 percent of Fallout 3 on Games on Demand, meaning you can pick it up for just £14.99.

Meanwhile, XBLA titles Full House Poker and Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team are going for half price at 400 MS Points (£3.43) apiece, while there’s 73 percent off the usual price of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which you can pick up for 320 MS Points (£2.74). (more…)

Brilliant New Tesco Ad for MW3!

The ad features a man returning home from the shops. His wife asks if he got the eggs. Spoiler: He didn’t get the eggs.

The ad is running in high profile slots, such as during X Factor, and debuted during the Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund earlier this week. (more…)

The Sun vs Microsoft in Xbox Live ‘hacking’ saga

microsoft-vs-sun Has Xbox Live been hacked or just a phishing scam?

Recently there has been complaints about xbox live players accounts been hacked and microsoft have been saying that they have not been hack and that it’s all a email phishing scam.

But UK national newspaper The Sun have said that microsoft are playing it all down and that people have acualy been hack and have not given there account details to any email or other player on Xbox Live.

They have said that they have been contacted by several users that have been affected. (more…)

EA Reinstates Battlefield 1943 Offer

battlefield-3 Having been threatened with legal action in a US court, EA has decided that it will now offer a free copy of digital shooter Battlefield 1943 to owners of Battlefield 3 on PS3.

Having announced the promotion earlier in the year, the release of Battlefield 3 came and went without trace of the freebie. As is to be expected, this lead to the requisite legal action in the US.

Now, however, the publisher has backtracked once again. European PS3 gamers will be able to claim their game on November 26th, US owners on December 10th and Asian gamers on December 17th. (more…)

Dark Orbit Makes $2.6million from Super Power Drones

It may sound crazy to normal folks like you and me, but Bigpoint’s Dark Orbit, a browser-based F2P spaceship MMO, recently sold 2,000 of their in-game drones in just four days, priced at 1,000 Euros each! The sales net Bigpoint around two and a half million dollars. (more…)
