18 Million Tankmen Worldwide

wargaming-net_logo Wargaming.net, the award-winning videogame publisher and developer, announced today that the community of World of Tanks action MMO now exceeds 18 million players worldwide.

“We want to thank our game community for their support,” said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming.net.

“Having so many devoted players is extremely rewarding, and our company will provide them with tons of new game content to enjoy.”

Since the release in Russia on August 12, 2010, World of Tanks has successfully entered the European, North American, and Asian markets. (more…)

Tekken 3D Set For February Release

0c71f42ce7fa24e9b3b92211f1a3ff90 Namco Bandai’s Tekken 3D Prime Edition will hit UK shelves on February 17th with Nintendo responsible for sales, marketing and distribution.

The publisher has entered into a new distribution agreement with Nintendo for European territories and Australia.

Nintendo will also distribute accompanying Namco Bandai 3DS title One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special, which arrives on February 10th.

Tekken 3D Prime Edition marks the fighting franchise’s 3DS debut, while One Piece is a remake of the original Wii pirate adventure game. Both titles are exclusive to Nintendo’s 3DS handheld.

Tekken 3D is the first 3DS game to also feature a full-length computer animated movie on its cartridge, titled Tekken Blood Vengeance. (more…)

Square Enix Says User Info Not Compromised

square-enix-reveals-the-games-it-will-be-showing-off-at-e3-2 Servers to go back online ‘by end of December’ after internal investigation into security breach.

No personal information was accessed following the recent security breach of Square Enix member servers in Japan and North America.

This is despite the publisher revealing last week that up to 1.8 million accounts may have been compromised, with information including customer names, phone numbers and e-mails.

As a result, Square Enix said it will restarted the members service by the end of December, with exact details to be announced “at a later date”.

“As a result of our continuing investigation, we have now confirmed that the database in which we store personal information was NOT accessed during the recent server intrusion,” read a statement form the company. (more…)

Devil May Cry HD Collection release date confirmed

screenshot_274701_thumb_wide940 Capcom has confirmed Devil May Cry HD Collection will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from April 3.

The collection features visually tweaked versions of PS2 classics Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening.
Crammed in between them is also Devil May Cry 2. The less said about that the better. (more…)

Microsoft Kicks Off 12 Days of Christmas Sales

The promotion will see new deals everyday on games, add-ons, avatars and more. For today only, the award-winning Bastion will be available for half-price. 600 Microsoft Points and it’s yours.

Star Wars: Old Republic launches, ‘will change MMOs’!

Star Wars: The Old Republic More than three years after announcement and (allegedly) over $100m in development, EA’s biggest ever video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has gone live to the public this morning.

According to analysts more than a million early access customers have already joined the MMO, and despite complaints of hefty server queues developer BioWare says it’s “extremely happy” with where it stands at launch. (more…)

Forge of Empires: Exclusive Preview Starts Now!

forge-of-empires-450x300-logo Today InnoGames started the Exclusive Preview for its upcoming strategy browser game Forge of Empires.

500 players will be able to get a sneak peek at the game in its current pre-beta state and can provide the developers with helpful feedback.

The first invitations for pre-registered accounts have already been sent out; more will follow during the next few days. InnoGames will also give out keys via its Facebook page.

The German Developer also released further information about the game’s different eras. Starting in the Stone Age, the player’s village will undergo several transformations and eventually turn into an impressive metropolis. (more…)

Batman: Arkham City Gets Free DLC Costume

Rocksteady has said it will be releasing a free new character skin as a way to thank fans for supporting Batman: Arkham City.

The gratis skin will kit up the Dark Knight in his Batman Incorporated outfit, which is very much in line with his classic costume and features a more pronounced bat symbol on his chest.

According to the Official Batman: Arkham City blog the skin will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Games for Windows Marketplace tomorrow.

Rocksteady has also stuck in a shortcut input that allows players to don an alternative outfit from the outset, instead of completing the game first to unlock the option. (more…)

NFS World Gets $100 Downloadable Car

393504_207748185973835_120894394659215_433994_1397465048_n EA is charging users of Need for Speed World $100 to download the free-to-play PC racer’s first ‘premium elite’ car.

The publisher has listed the Koenigsegg CCX Elite Edition motor at $100, although it’s currently on offer at $75 until December 21st, reports GameSpot.

Although Need for Speed World is technically a free-to-play MMO game, EA has always charged users for extras such as new cars and upgrades in the form of paid-for SpeedBoost points. (more…)
