Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has smashed through the $1 billion barrier just 16 days after release, Activision has revealed.

EA has revealed a new Command & Conquer PC strategy game is in the works at BioWare Victory.
Command & Conquer Generals 2, which hits shelves on PC in 2013, was unveiled at the Spike Video Game Awards in the US this week. It will be developed at BioWare Victory, the studio formerly known as Victory Games.
“We’re bringing BioWare’s vision for emotionally engaging gameplay and great attention to quality to the strategy genre and the Command & Conquer franchise,” said EA’s GM of BioWare Dr Ray Muzyka.
“I am excited to welcome BioWare Victory to our label. They are a great addition and the team is working hard to make sure Generals 2 truly immerses and engages players into this intense, gritty, modern war experience.” (more…)
Generalist retailer Argos has ceased offering second-hand video games.
MCV understands this extends to Argos’ bricks-and-mortar outlets, with all stores instructed to stop accepting or selling pre-owned video games.
The company’s website previously allowed customers to check how much credit they would receive for selected titles, but now states: “We no longer offer a video games trade-in service”.
The retailer entered the pre-owned market back in March 2010, trialling the scheme in its North East stores. It later rolled out its trade-in offer to all stores in July 2010. (more…)
