Meet the T1 Team

Here’s the talented team of gaming enthusiasts who handle and produce Thirteen1. They’re not a bad bunch, y’know.

———————————————-

Dan (Editor-in-Chief)

Dan co-founded T1 with the help of the DrunkenGamer and Sprog (who now does online PR for Manchester Utd) back in April 2008 – he’s never looked back since. Having dabbled with some games design work and project management for Omerta Game LTD, he decided to combine his knowledge of the industry and nimbleness with a joypad to produce Thirteen1, the magazine you enjoy on this very site. Known for having a keen eye for detail and terrible joke telling skills, Dan spends much of his time playing Fifa, Gears of War and just about any game he can get his mitts on before the rest of the team steals them from his desk.

Interesting Fact: Came up with the idea for T1 as a throwaway comment over a beer. Funny how things work out sometimes.

Kayure (T1 Daily Manager)

Kayure joined the team in 2011 and instantly became an integral cog of the T1 machine. A keen gamer with an eye for what matters, Kayure can often be found grinding his way through RPG’s and handing out ass whoppings on Fifa. Kayure is a jack-of-all-trades and keeps T1 running in all departments: graphics production, news management, editorial creation – he can do it all. The only thing he constantly refuses to do is make the rest of the team a drink on hot sunny days. Bastard.

Interesting Fact: Avid Manchester Utd fan and knows more than a thing or two about the legal system. So don’t every try to sue us. Ever.

Rich Moore (Production)

Otherwise known as the “graphical terminator” around T1 HQ, Rich Moore began his affiliation with T1 with a voluntary work placement when fresh out of uni searching for a job. Now, when he’s not working as a Visuals Effects Artist for EA Studios (yes, really!), he can be found sat behind his beast of an Alienware machine shooting the hell out of anything that moves on the latest FPS games. Or designing pages for the latest issues of T1. Rich has an unmatched passion for gaming that is quickly making him a prominent figure in the gaming industry.

DrunkenGamer (Reviewer, Technical Manager)

Where do you begin with a loveable inebriate like the DrunkenGamer? (answer: at the pub). Co-founder of Thirteen1, he loves his gaming as much as he loves a pint and found a niche way to combine the two. With an obsession for the MMO scene and gaming in general, the DrunkenGamer rose to prominence constructing reviews for Thirteen1. His ridiculously fun drinking games have become a highlight for T1 readers the world over.

Alec-Ross Bower (Reviewer/Feature Writer)

Alec began volunteer writing for Thirteen1 a few years ago and quickly became one of the magazine’s standout contributors. Best known for his love of all things wacky, Sega, and his enviable hair styles, Alec’s 13-1 Countdowns and passion for gaming music have become a stellar part of T1′s content. When he’s not gaming, he can be found playing with his band at live music venues.

Interesting Fact: His girlfriend, Helen Lauder, works for an audio and animation production company and has voiced zombies in House of the Dead. Alec’s current day job is at Coca-cola, but he still hasn’t managed to get us all that lifetime supply of Dr.Pepper we oh-so crave.

Scott Malthouse (Reviewer/Feature Writer)

As a lover of all things indie and outside-of-the-box gaming, Scott instantly fit the T1 bill when he started volunteer writing for the magazine more than 3 years ago. Often described as a “writing machine”, “editorial genius” and “a silly man”, Scott is a major part of T1′s heartbeat and the man to speak with when you want to know the ins-and-outs of the gaming industry sectors that rarely get the coverage they deserve.
