Xbox One Blunders: Is the Future of Xbox in Jeopardy?
June 17th, 2013
After last week’s E3 event, one may argue that Microsoft has caused a grievous amount of damage to their entire games operation.
Indeed, Amazon sales show that the PS4 has earned a vast number of pre-orders in comparison to the Xbox One, which has moved from third to fifth place in the retailer’s bestsellers.
Adding insult to injury, in a recent verdict from Interactive Entertainment research firm DFC, David Cole has stated how: ‘Right now the entire future of Microsoft’s consumer entertainment business is in question and that is likely to have a major impact on the game industry.” This conclusion has derived from Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox one, that of which DFC have described as “deeply flawed”. With their plans to make the Xbox One entirely online alongside the heavy DRM limitations, it is evident that consumers are now much more likely to purchase the PS4, subsequently implementing the sales of the Xbox One in a devastating way.
