Evil Within Gameplay Details

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

1790asylumunderground_03 Bethesda has revealed a host of fresh details about The Evil Within, their upcoming horror game spearheaded by legendary Resident Evil creator, Shini Mikami.

The Evil Within was officially announced last week following a teaser trailer that had everybody (including us!) thinking Fallout 4 was in development.

IGN, who had exclusive access to the official The Evil Within announcement trailer last week, has revealed the new details, which include information on some of the core gameplay elements.

Unsurprisingly, Mikami is aiming for “the perfect balance between horror and action” with The Evil Within. Here’s hoping that means it’s more akin to the original Resident Evil than last years Resident Evil 6, which Mikami had no involvement in creating.

The theme of the story will apparently carry an “air of mystery”; a fitting move considering the protagonist, Sebastian, is a detective. Sebastian will be controlled with the ‘over-the-shoulder’ viewpoint made famous in Resident Evil. Sebastian is joined by his partner, Joseph, as well as a female detective known as ‘Kid’.
