The damage of Laffitte’s attacks increase with the wit of his crew, meaning that, combined with his slow speed and low HP stats, players must manage their crews wisely to get the best out of Laffitte’s devastating abilities. Impressively, Laffitte is capable of blasting indefinitely – even blocking won’t stop him. His strength of attack makes him just as strong as SS-rank crews.

Soon in open beta, much of Cyber Monster’s appeal since launching its closed beta phase on Sept 19th (besides the 3D graphics) has stemmed from the game class system. Cyber Monster features four different classes with pre-assigned genders: Warrior (male), Priest (female), Mage (male) and Ranger (female). Each class has four different roles and strengths, which when joined together form a perfect team capable of cruising past challenging bosses and dungeons.

Male characters revolve around might and magic. The dragon knight Warrior carries a sharp sword and a tough shield, making them great fighters with high Defence and HP. Their destructive capabilities, unique dragon pet and shining armour make them an obvious choice for players wanting to play the role of the hero. Mages are manipulators of mysterious magic. They can control the natural elements and set the pace of the battlefield for the rest of their team to follow. While adept at using their magic to defend, attacks such as the Gale, which strike all enemy targets with devastating force, make them formidable aggressors and the number one class for anybody wanting to do some damage.

Combining elements of empire-building with strategic warfare and diplomacy, Shadowland Online offers an expansive world with massive battles in which players start with a small city and build up to an entire region controlled and defended with the help of allies. A unique time travel feature allows the dark fantasy world to intersect with real ancient history and lets players fight alongside legendary heroes. Mini games such as farming, mining and exploration are an integral part of the social gaming experience.

Due to be released sometime this June, Serenia Fantasy has been gaining rather a lot of attention due to its not often seen retro style, paying homage as it does to the classic Japanese role player games of the 1990’s, or as Koramgame refers to the period “Gaming’s Golden Age”.

In this old school role player game, players will travel to the lands of Serenia Continent where they’ll take on a whole host of different quests and missions that span the entire Continent of Serenia.

Judging by the screenshots that have been released via Facebook, the landscapes of Serenia Continent vary quite considerably and it’s easy to see why this game has been piquing the interest of many gamers who crave the retro gaming experience.

Developers and gamers just can’t leave the damned things alone – zombies are EVERYWHERE these days and there’s no sign of the outbreak abating. This is especially true of the browser-based title currently in its beta-testing stages, World of the Living Dead, though where virtually all other games are keen to show off their horribly mutated/mutilated celebrities, this game is all about focused management and survivor coordination.

The playing field is Los Angeles, California, and your team of survivors must negotiate their way between and through ‘yellow’, ‘green’, and ‘red’ zones, while scavenging whatever they can wherever they can. You can guess what those zones signify, right? If not, your skills of perception are clearly well below those of the average survivor and it’s suggested that you stay back – let the others handle this one.

World of the Living Dead is by no means an easy game to get into; the tutorial will probably take up the first couple of hours alone, and even then you’ll still be trying to figure things out. Fortunately, you’re prompted into making most of the right decisions by looking at the condition of your survivor squad and trying to meet their needs as required. You start out with three enterprising individuals, all of whom are quite eager to stay alive and out of trouble, but here’s the rub.

Zombies don’t need to eat, drink, or sleep…But humans do. Zombies don’t care who they’re mixing with amongst their undead brethren; if your skin’s hanging off and half your face is missing, you can do the retarded street shuffle with them any day or night. Humans tend to be picky when it comes to social tasks as simple as meeting their neighbours, and this means that if you encounter other survivors holed up in a safe house, for example, the chances are you’ll get your head shot off rather than a helping hand.

InnoGames just launched the strategic browser game Forge of Empires in an open beta. The German beta will begin on April 19; other language versions, including French, Dutch and Polish will soon follow.

The team’s high expectations of Forge of Empires’ closed beta were exceeded by the overwhelmingly positive response from preview testers and media alike.
