MW3 Sells at 75 Copies… per Second

That’s no mean feat. As has just been revealed by Activision, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sold 6.5m copies in the UK and US alone in its first 24 hours on the market.

That means it sold 75 copies sold a second throughout its first day on retail shelves.

Factor in the limited hours of most retailers and that actually works out to around 200 copies per second. (more…)

Firing Range – The Aiming FPS Game

msbadge Firing Range, the game that will help you improve your aim and brag about it to your friends on Xbox LIVE, is set to release on November 11th (Yeah, that’s tomorrow!).

On Firing Range, the goal is to shoot at the targets on continuous rounds of increasing difficulty, with a different weapon each time. The game has the sensibility tuned to perform exactly the same as the COD series, even including the ADS skill, and will help you improve your FPS accuracy.

On the higher levels, the game will require both accurate shots and high reflexes to keep going, which will end up in a challenge even for most seasoned gamers. (more…)

Call of Duty: Elite – Beta Sign Up

call-duty-elite-trailer-subscription Activision are now taking sign-ups for this summer’s Call of Duty Elite beta.

You can do this ahead of the subscription service’s full rollout on November 8 alongside Modern Warfare 3.

Officially announced this afternoon, Call of Duty Elite will chronicle a player’s gameplay history in a career record, keeping track of every kill, every game and match progress.

Activision says that “many key features of Call of Duty Elite will be available to Call of Duty players free of charge,” although others will require a paid subscription.

Thirteen1 July Issue Available Now!

The South African fun is over, and unless you’re lucky enough to be Spanish (or don’t care about football), you’ll undoubtedly be nursing some kind of World Cup hurt.. issue28

Luckily, as always, gaming is here to act as a shining light in the darkest of times, and the 100% free-to-read July issue of Thirteen1 magazine is now available, covering all of the month’s top gaming releases.
There really is little reason to be down with all of this finger-bashing fun to be had.

The much anticipated Crackdown 2 has finally jumped onto the scene, and right onto the front cover of Thirteen1, probably leaping over a massive skyscraper while firing a rocket launcher in mid-air to get there. Does it live up to expectations? Check out T1’s extensive review of all things super-powered to find out.

EA have fittingly released FIFA Online just in time for everyone to right their personal international wrongs, so T1 has jumped straight in there to cover it with a beta hands-on. Will it prove as popular as it’s console counterpart?
