In advance of the royal coronation that is the release of the strategy/RPG Crusader Kings II on February 14, Paradox Interactive have today announced that the pre-order campaign has begun!
The Crusader Kings II pre-order includes free bonus content for all loyal subjects: a full game in Crusader Kings Complete, along with two additional DLC packs;
Crusader Kings II Mongol Families DLC
The Mongol Families DLC contains thousands of unique face combinations for male and female characters of the Mongol cultures. It also contains seven new unit sprites for Archers, Horse Archers, Heavy Infantry, Pikemen, Light Infantry, Light Cavalry and Heavy Cavalry.
Crusader Kings II Dynasty Shield DLC
Containing 50 unique dynastic shields for the 50 most famous families of Medieval Europe (more…)

Retailer Blockbuster has signalled its growing intention in the games space by striking its first DLC exclusivity deal.
Thanks to an agreement with EA, those who pre-order Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 with the chain will receive two bonus golfer foursome downloads.
The first will allow gamers to play with Manchester Utd’s Wayne Rooney, Man City’s James Milner, Arsenal’s Theo Walcott and Chelsea’s Petr Cech. The second offers US sports stars including Sugar Ray Leonard. (more…)

EA continues its unique approach to Mass Effect 3 DLC with news of free in-game content being bundled with an upcoming hardback art book.
A Dark Horse blog post reveals that anyone who pre-orders The Art of Mass Effect Universe, priced at $26.91 or just over £17, before February 20 will receive bonus content for multiplayer consisting of ‘character boosters’ and a Collector Assault Rifle. (more…)

And a cheat to access skins from the start!
Rocksteady has said it will be releasing a free new character skin as a way to thank fans for supporting Batman: Arkham City.
The gratis skin will kit up the Dark Knight in his Batman Incorporated outfit, which is very much in line with his classic costume and features a more pronounced bat symbol on his chest.
According to the Official Batman: Arkham City blog the skin will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Games for Windows Marketplace tomorrow.
Rocksteady has also stuck in a shortcut input that allows players to don an alternative outfit from the outset, instead of completing the game first to unlock the option. (more…)

Sony Online Entertainment’s (SOE) PAYDAY The Heist is back and ready to take fans on a new crime spree – all while spreading some holiday cheer!
In various levels of the multiplayer mode, players must find a wrapped present in order to gain the latest achievement.

Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Revelations will feature downloadable content following the game’s release, starting with The Ancestors Character Pack in December.
The first new downloadable content features four new multiplayer characters: the swashbuckling Privateer, the devious siren Corsair, the battle-tested Brigand and the bloodthirsty Gladiator. Each character is personalized with unique taunts, weapons and stylized assassination moves. (more…)

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the free DLC update for its bestselling game franchise Portal 2 will be rolled out across all regions on Steam, Xbox LIVE and PSN starting October 4th.
The free DLC, titled Portal 2: Peer Review, is available to all owners of Portal 2 for download on PS3 and Xbox 360, and will be automatically downloaded via Steam on PC and Mac.

The free Red Dead Redemption Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack DLC is now available for download worldwide on Xbox LIVE and on PlayStation Network.
This completely free Bonus Pack, a token of Rockstar’s appreciation for all the amazing Red Dead fans out there that have been playing the game since its release last year, injects a host of new fan-favorite characters from the single-player story into multiplayer.

The launch of “Gears of War 3” on 20 September is still a few weeks away, but Microsoft and Epic Games are already announcing that there’s more to come by the way of multiple game add-ons for the year’s biggest console exclusive.
Revealed today, the “Gears of War 3” Season Pass entitles you to the first four instalments of downloadable content that will roll out over the course of the next year, with the first releasing this November.
