For Half-Life fans the weekend brought news that Black Mesa has finally been released on the official website, with a Steam Greenlight release to follow in the next few months.

EA Celebrates UEFA Euro 2012 with Exclusive Release of Officially Licensed Videogame

uefa-euro-2012-logo EA SPORTS UEFA EURO 2012 Digital Expansion Pack To FIFA 12 Gives Fans The Best Way To Experience The Drama Of The Real-World Tournament

Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that EA Sports will celebrate UEFA EURO 2012  with the only officially licensed videogame of the 2012 European Football Championship which begins June 8 in Poland and Ukraine. EA Sports UEFA EURO 2012  will be available as a paid digital expansion pack to fans who own EA Sports  FIFA 12 on the PlayStation3,  Xbox 360, and PC. The videogame will be available to fans beginning April 24, 2012.

EA Sports UEFA EURO 2012 recreates all the drama and excitement of the official tournament with all 53 UEFA member national teams, all eight official stadiums in the tournament, and all the pageantry and atmosphere of one of the largest and most-watched sporting events on the planet. (more…)

FIFA 12 Is UK’s Biggest Ever Selling Sports Game

fifa12_logo Electronic Arts’ FIFA 12 has smashed records for both the series and the sports genre in the UK.

GfK Chart-Track data shows that the game has generated more revenue through retail than any previous FIFA titles and any other sports title to date – making it UK’s best-selling sports game ever.

The news comes as FIFA 12 racks up its fifth consecutive No.1 – it is now joint second for the best chart run of any FIFA title. However, it will have to hold onto No.1 for a few more months to top the series’ current record: 11 weeks running for FIFA Road To The World Cup ’98. (more…)

FIFA 12 Demo Released

fifa12_logo The highly anticipated Football game, FIFA 12 from EA Sports, is now out in a demo format for Playstation, X-Box 360 and PC.

Released yesterday on X-Box Live Marketplace, the demo weighs in at 1.42 GB and is taking some users considerable times to download, due to it’s popularity. It even crashed the Live network yesterday.

Director of Architecture for Xbox Live Operations Eric Neustadter apologised for this on Twitter saying: ‘Xbox.com is having issues at the moment. It’s being worked on – sorry for the hassle, folks.’

FIFA 12 Gets a Special X-Box Live Subscription Bundle

f12_en-12m_slv_2dp_tif_jpgcopy Microsoft have announced that FIFA 12, from EA Sports, will get an X-Box Live bundle deal to celebrate the launch this September.

Following the huge success of FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 11, the mode has expanded in FIFA 12 and has received the same treatment as the Halo Franchise.

In Ultimate Team, you accumulate different types of cards, either player cards or one of many types of consumables.  You get these cards through opening packs which you can buy with in-game currency known as coins, or pay with real money through the online store. The Microsoft Points are the real money with which this mode operates.

To encourage the masses of people who will be purchasing FIFA 12 to play online and experience Ultimate Team, combining 800 Microsoft Points with a year long Live Subscription is a move that will hopefully increase the people playing FIFA 12 online in its various guises.
