Cross-platform sandbox shooter unveils new modes; sign-ups for closed beta now live
Infernum, the Berlin based publisher and developer of online games, has unleashed a new trailer video for its forthcoming cross-platform online shooter Brick-Force, one of Thirteen1’s One’s to Watch of 2012.
The cross-platform game fuses limitless creativity with first-person shooting to create a zany combat game unlike any other.
This comic-style online game will be playble directly in the browser thanks to the Unity 3D engine and is a co-production from the Korean developer EXE Games and Infernum. The sandbox mode, in which players use simple building blocks to construct complex environments, can be played on social networks and mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. (more…)

Battlefield 3 continue it’s strong performance since E3 with another trailer.
As we enter the month of September, the nights get a little darker and the days are a little cooler. Autumn is also a time we start to see the games market heat up.
The contest between Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 will be intense for this back half of 2011, with this being the first of a number of trailers for both games, we can expect to see.

Adhesive Games’ multiplayer mech game, Hawken, has appeared once more on the radar, releasing a brand new video.
The video explains the story behind Hawken, one of two videos available for the highly anticipated indie game.
The video details some of the story line that Hawken will follow but more importantly gives a glimpse at the gameplay. The mechs will be operated in a first person viewpoint, which will make combat seem more realistic, as you will feel every bump and explosion in your cockpit.

Responding to popular demand of Serious Sam fans around the world, Croteam has confirmed that Serious Sam 3: BFE will ship on the PC with four-player split screen campaign cooperative and multiplayer versus modes.
Using a mouse and keyboard in combination with up to three game pads on a PC, Serious Sam fans will be able to battle together through the twelve levels of mayhem and go head-to-head in Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Survival, Beast Hunt and other multiplayer modes in Serious Sam 3: BFE.

2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the explosive breakout hit, Borderlands, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software.
Arriving on X-Box 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC in Take Two’s 2013Financial Year, which begins April 1, 2012.
Details of what we can expect from the sequel are vague at best partially due to the news being leaked yesterday, forcing the makers to respond.

Iceberg Interactive and Just A Game join forces to bring Nuclear Dawn to PC and MAC players in major European markets.
Videogames publisher Iceberg Interactive and online computer and videogames publisher Just A Game are pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement to bring InterWave Studios’ Nuclear Dawn to retailers across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia and the Benelux in October of 2011.
Nuclear Dawn, to be released on PC and MAC platforms, is the first game to offer a full FPS and RTS experience, within a single gameplay model, without crippling or diluting either side of the game. (more…)

This new first person shooter project will be unveiled next week at E3 behind closed doors
Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a wholly owned US subsidiary of Perfect World Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: PWRD), announced today its partnership with Zombie Studios to publish its next-generation, adrenaline-pumping first person shooter (FPS) Blacklight Retribution.
A sequel to Zombie Studio’s Tango Down, Blacklight Retribution will be shown for the first time at this year’s E3 (June 7 – 9) in the West Hall, Booth #5322 for a behind-closed doors first hands-on to select media.

The rumours have been confirmed, Batman has entered the realm of multi-player first-person shooters.
What could be considered a rather unlikely genre for the superhero, it could be what is needed to spark some extra creativity amongst the growing staleness of the FPS giants.
Monolith Productions have completely shattered the first-person shooter model, with what is said to be over-the-top gameplay, where players become personalised versions of ‘The Bats and The Jokerz’.
