A million puzzled App Store customers gazed in wonder at an icon that did not feature a round, red, beaked blob, and a thousand delighted iOS game developers cheered that the upset avians’ seemingly endless monopoly on the top slots was finally starting to slip.
Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint, the critically acclaimed iOS game by veteran bearded game designers The Pickford Bros, was officially hotter than Angry Birds!

Big Head Games is excited to announce a break through technology, developed in tandem with Korean tech firm Floorpali, comprising of a thin clear film and the BHG SDK all games can be made ‘glasses free’ 3D.
The effect is simply stunning, visually similar to 3DS but on the bigger and higher res screen of iPhone and iPad making this truly the next gen of handheld gaming.
It’s impossible to show the effect in a photo but here we see how simple the approach is, a wafer thin sheet of ‘plastic’ is laid on the screen and immediately images leap out at you.
Big Head’s Business Director Dave Vout explains “this is truly amazing, it blows away the Nintendo 3DS for size and resolution, it’s just a huge leap forward, we’ve worked very hard with Floorpali to develop something that is cheap but durable enough, this is going to change gaming on the iPad.”

IPad RTS favourite Knights of the Phantom Castle has hit the iPhone and iPod Touch in all its 16-bit glory.
Based on medieval warfare, Hudson Entertainment’s Knights lets users construct and conduct a unit of class-based knights with the objective of clearing over 50 stages set with various obstacles, treasures, and monsters; with gameplay specifically designed for the multi-touch interface.
Same as the iPad version, Knights of the Phantom Castle takes place across 3 scenes: Camp, Combat Deployment, and Stage Battle. Camp is where users create a unit of knights to deploy in to a later battle. In Combat Deployment, users set the formation of the unit, while Stage Battle is when they fight. Knights are classed in 6 groups: Defender, Soldier, Assassin, Ranger, Mage and Healer. Each class has unique skills (shields, special fighting techniques, etc.) which hold the keys to successfully conquering the stages.
