Zombie Restaurant Released on iOS Devices

‘Zombie Restaurant’ is a restaurant management game where players must feed zombies to prevent them from overtaking the town. The games ranked in the top 10 free games in App Store in the U.S. market.

Magnetic Billiards Topples Angry Birds From Top Spot on the iOS App Store

ipad_02_500 A curious thing happened on Apple’s iTunes App Store this weekend.  In one tiny corner of the App Store – the UK Puzzle “What’s Hot” category – for a brief, twinkling moment in time, a game other than Angry Birds appeared at the top of a chart.

A million puzzled App Store customers gazed in wonder at an icon that did not feature a round, red, beaked blob, and a thousand delighted iOS game developers cheered that the upset avians’ seemingly endless monopoly on the top slots was finally starting to slip.

Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint, the critically acclaimed iOS game by veteran bearded game designers The Pickford Bros, was officially hotter than Angry Birds!

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions Released on iPhone

final_fantasy_tactics_lion_war_logo Square Enix Ltd. today announced that Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, which has received global acclaim on several platforms, is now available as part of a worldwide simultaneous release for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Final Fantasy Tactics was first released in Japan for the PlayStation in 1997 and sold over 2.4 million copies worldwide. In 2007, the popularity of the series expanded when Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions was released for PSP.

Demolition Dash 2.0 Available on the App Store

Version 2.0 includes the brand-new Endless Run mode, the training mode requested by users and detailed statistics with an even better overview of the player’s achievements. In addition, Demolition Dash 2.0 now supports OpenFeint as well.

At the core of the massive 2.0 update is Endless Run mode: In the battle for the next high score, players run through the cities from World Rampage mode in a randomly generated order.

Ragnarok Online Moving to the iPad/iPhone

Gravity Interactive’s most famous and very popular MMORPG is being released as a single-player iPhone/iPad application which can be found on the Apple’s App Store on August 5, 2011.  The game will be available and free to download from the Apple’s App Store.

Angry Birds Rio Launches In App Stores Worldwide

ab_rio_app_icon Immediately available for iOS and Mac, Android exclusively in Amazon Appstore

Rovio today announced the availability of their latest game, Angry Birds Rio, on iOS, Mac and Android platforms. Starting today, the game can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, from the Mac App Store for Mac computers, and for Android devices in the Amazon Appstore.

The game was developed in conjunction with Twentieth Century Fox, and features the animated stars of the studio’s upcoming film, RIO, which debuts in theaters on April 15. The game was officially launched in Rio de Janeiro at the world premiere of RIO.

Angry Birds Rio will also be available in the Ovi Store for Symbian^3 smartphones and the Palm App Catalog for Palm WebOS devices on April 8.

Review – Ascendancy

ascendancy-promo-art-comp1b As much as everyone loves firing birds from slingshots or making frogs bounce from cloud to cloud, sometimes you just have a craving for something a little more in depth and traditional.

Nothing could scratch that itch better than the classic empire building strategy genre, known as the 4X genre.

For those who are not familiar with that category, 4X is short for ‘explore, expand, exterminate, and exploit’ and while those core features appear in many strategy games, the 4X games generally max out the complexity & detail. These games saw a surge of popularity in the mid 90’s, with games like Master of Orion & Space Empires proving popular. One other title that came out during this time was Ascendancy, which was one of the better games to come out during that boom.
