Dawn of Fantasy’s Open Beta Has Started

dawn-of-fantasy_01 Prior to the launch of Dawn of Fantasy this September, Reverie World Studios and 505 Games are extending an invitation to all MMO-RTS fans to register now for the game’s Open Beta.

Players can build up a mighty stronghold, engage in three quest-based campaigns as Elves, Orcs, or Men, and fight for supremacy in any of the four game modes.

Dawn of Fantasy is one of the first true MMORTS (Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy) titles, meaning that it offers an evolving online environment. You will be gathering resources, constructing buildings and walls, directing your citizens, completing quests in service of mighty nobles and fiendish rogues, and managing your economy.

LEGO Universe fans can now get ready to gear up and reap the benefits of their in-game adventures with the new level progression system! With the addition of the progression system, players will feel more powerful than ever before! As players complete in-game missions to unlock achievements and points, minifigures will now rise through the ranks up to level 40 in the new levelling system. Levelling up will give players a sense of achievement for their progress, and reward them as they unleash their creativity.

Ragnarok Online Moving to the iPad/iPhone

Gravity Interactive’s most famous and very popular MMORPG is being released as a single-player iPhone/iPad application which can be found on the Apple’s App Store on August 5, 2011.  The game will be available and free to download from the Apple’s App Store.

Allods Online: Renaissance Update Announced

LEGO MMO Coming Soon!

lu_logo_yellow_grey_gradient_outline The LEGO Group have announced plans for an upcoming free-to-play offering in LEGO® Universe.

Beginning this August, the free-to-play option will welcome players to try LEGO Universe for free, as long as they like, before deciding whether or not to become paid members. Also, players will no longer need to invest in the game DVD to play LEGO Universe. The game will be available via free digital download only.

“The LEGO Group remains committed to success in the digital space and to LEGO Universe,” said Jesper Vilstrup, Vice President, the LEGO Group. “We see LEGO Universe as a key element for our digital play division, and are adjusting the business model to make the game more accessible to players, without the immediate obligation to purchase or subscribe.”

LEGO Universe will continue to generate revenue through paid memberships, and there are no plans for micro-transactions at this time. Players can try out the free-to-play zone for an unlimited period of time, and can pay $10 per month to become a LEGO Universe member and receive full game access. Those who sign up for extended memberships will continue to receive discount pricing. (more…)

Review – Battlestar Galactica Online

I’ve never cared much for Battlestar Galactica. It felt like more of a Star Trek/Babylon 5 thing to me, and I’ve always considered myself to be more on the Star Wars/Firefly side of the fence with all the other ‘nerd, but not too nerd’ nerds, choosing to spend my weekends on more productive things like smoking behind the bike shed and flirting with that girl in my World of Warcraft guild ‘on vent’.

Of course, that was until they turned it into a game, and said game attracted more than a million players in its first 6 weeks of beta. That’s when it started to pique my interest; that’s when I learned that it was Free-to-Play. I had to give it a shot.

Review – RIFT

With so many titles launching into the genre it can be a bit overwhelming, not that I would ever let that stop me trying to check out every last one of them.

The latest out of the blocks is RIFT, one of the most anticipated releases this year. Anticipation, however, can be a double edge sword. If not lived up too, it can very easily convert into disappointment and anger.

So lets find out whether RIFT lives up to hype, shall we?

For the three of our readers that have been hiding under a rock in the back of a cave playing pokemon for the last year, I will start with a little roundup of the games story.
