Rockstar parent Take-Two has trademarked ‘GTA TV’ and ‘Rockstar TV’, possibly hinting at extensive trans-media promotion for Grand Theft Auto V.
Could we see some GTA-themed TV programming released leading up to and around the game’s launch? Some sort of promotional web series? Your guess is as good as ours. (more…)

Remedy managed to recoup its development and marketing costs for the PC version of Alan Wake within the game’s first two days on sale.
That’s according to executive vice president Aki Järvilehto, who wrote on the game’s official forums: “We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing.”
“We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we’re certainly very excited about PC.” (more…)

2K Games announced today that Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Gods & Kings, the expansion pack for the award-winning Civilization V, is being developed for Windows-based PC. (more…)

BioWare’s released its full ‘Take Earth Back’ trailer for Mass Effect 3
The CGI trailer aired in full on US TV last nigjht, during an episode of The Walking Dead.
As you can see, the video features an all-out attack on Earth by the ancient alien race known as the Reapers. A Mass Effect 3 demo launched last week, covering this section of the game.
A co-op portion of the demo also opened to all on Friday. (more…)

New to AION Free-to-Play: Polished Levelling, Better Graphics, More Challenges
Thousands of players have been calling the fantasy world of Atreia their home since 2009 in the online role-playing game, AION. But what has changed since its launch? The wishes of the community have been answered with several updates, and the game has been continually expanded and improved.
New features and functions have been added, and some MMO essentials have been adjusted, such as new instances, a better rewards system, more opportunities for levelling up through quests, and innovations such as the mentor system, from which beginners as well as experienced veterans can benefit. The explosive, brand new official trailer for Max Payne 3 is here – revealing more of the game’s story, beginning with the kidnapping of Rodrigo Branco’s beautiful young wife, Fabiana, while under Max’s protection.

As far as PR stunts go, this is a winner. EA will launch copies of Mass Effect 3 into space, which fans will be able to track down and keep when they decent back to Earth.
The copies will be sent into the upper reaches of the atmosphere using weather balloons.
Launching over New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris next week, the balloons with carry the games into space before popping, leaving gravity to take over and pull the discs back down to Earth. (more…)

The first Nuclear Dawn custom maps are starting to surface and we look upon them, we find them good. So good, in fact, that we want to offer two map makers the chance to have their work featured as an official Nuclear Dawn map, with the It’s a Nuclear World contest.
The rules are simple: you have just over four months to produce a custom Nuclear Dawn map that conforms to these rules. The map can have any shape, form, setting or theme you desire. You can work on your own or with a team, by using only existing Nuclear Dawn assets, or making everything from scratch.
What we are looking for is atmosphere and fluid gameplay, along with production values that can stand next to the existing maps. This won’t be a featured, or community map, but a full-blown part of the next Nuclear Dawn release, presented as an official standard rotation map. (more…)

Ubisoft will be releasing single-player downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations centred on the first-person block puzzles and platforming featured in the game.
That’s according to a number of new achievements posted on Xbox 360 Achievements.
Elsewhere, GAME briefly listed an ‘Ottoman Edition’ for Revelations before removing it from the website. The special edition’s cover (pictured) mentions “free downloadable content”, further suggesting the imminent release of new DLC.
Another retailer, AWX, mentions a March 16 release date for the new package.
Last month Ubisoft released the Mediterranean Traveller map pack for Assassin’s Creed Revelations, featuring a mixture of fresh and fan favourite Brotherhood maps. (more…)
