Red Dead Redemption 2?

rsg_rdr_screenshot_076 Well speculations were going to happen sooner or later and it seems that time has come. Two job postings in particular for the Red Dead Redemption development team, Rockstar San Diego, have got people thinking that Red Dead 2 is on the cards.

The adverts in question reveal that the studio is planning an open world game.

The two adverts, mentioned above, that seem to be causing the speculations are for a Gameplay Programmer “ready for the challenges posed by large scale open worlds with complex AI and physics” and also an AI Programmer “who is ready to help us create the best open world experiences, and push the limits of Artificial Intelligence in areas such as path-finding, combat, and decision-making.” (more…)

GTA V Development ‘Making Great Progress’

gta-v-logo Take-Two assured investors in a financials call today that development of Grand Theft Auto V is “making great progress”, despite staying well away from determining a window of release.

Analysts expect Grand Theft Auto 5 to launch in Take-Two’s upcoming financial year – ending March 31, 2013 – despite an increasingly crowded release schedule for the publisher, but the firm chose not to address talks of a release date during today’s call. (more…)

Rockstar Extends Max Payne 3 Special Edition Deadline

maxpayne3-12-1280 Fans of the series now have until April to pre-order the Special Edition of Max Payne 3.

Rockstar announced it has extended the deadline following yesterday’s news that the game has been delayed until May. The SKU will no longer be available after April 2nd.

The Special Edition features a copy of the game and an assortment of extras, including a collectible statue of Max Payne and a bullet-shaped keychain. (more…)

Max Payne 3 Delayed

maxpayne31301535175 Rockstar Games’ upcoming Bullet Time shooter has been pushed back to a May release.

Max Payne 3 was originally due for release in March, but now joins the line-up of releases Rockstar parent Take-Two has planned for its next financial year.

The game will now be released in the UK on May 18th for Xbox 360 and PS3. The PC version will follow on June 1st. (more…)

GTA III coming to Smartphones

gta3_logo_04 It’s ten years since the release of seminal PS2 classic Grand Theft Auto III and to celebrate Rockstar Games has announced that the 3D action title is coming to smartphones.

It’s due to hit both iOS and Android some time this autumn. Compatibility has been confirmed with iPad 2, iPhone 4S, Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy X2, Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Owners of older iOS devices, including the iPhone 4, are sadly set to miss out. (more…)
