Weekly Video Game Round Up

Friday, April 12th, 2013

batman-arkham-origins-7 Can you believe its mid-April already?

It seems like just yesterday I was telling you about all the fun things that happened during the second week of January. Fortunately, this week has been just as revealing as that week.

The week kicked off with a bang, as we were treated to 30 glorious minutes of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Gameplay. No short 2minute trailer or 30 second gameplay clip here, no, a full half hour and just when you thought Monday couldn’t get any better, there was also the news that Issue #1 of the Last of Us Comic was released.

It was also a great week for Kickstarter projects as Obsidian released the first in-game footage of their Kickstarter funded RPG, Project Eternity. The game, which was funded for over $4million already shows signs of being worth the investment as the 2D assets being used to create 3D effects look great, along with the dynamic day/night cycles and weather effects.

Also sporting some nifty special FX is the live action Street Fighter project, Assassin’s Fist. The planned series, starring Joey Ansah aims to stay true to the game’s lore and will not have Kylie Minogue acting – seems like the perfect project for any Street Fighter aficionado!

Capcom Responds To BBB Complaints: No Distinction Between DLC And Disc-Locked Content

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

capcom_logo-1 While most major sites are sitting around their cushy leather chairs demeaning gamers with ridiculous five-minute editorials starting or ending with this year’s overused keyword, “entitlement”, gamers and fed-up consumers have been going to the Better Business Bureau about the rising tide of consumer mistreatment from companies like Electronic Arts and Capcom.

In the case of Capcom, they’ve actually responded to some of these complaints and their response has always been the same: There’s no distinction between downloadable content and disc-locked content. In other words, expect to get screwed some more in future releases. (more…)
