Batman Looks Pissed in These New Batman: Arkham Origins Screenshots

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

batman_arkham_origins__screenshot011_0 Let’s be honest, Batman has never been the sunniest character to ever grace our comics and movie screens. Bruce Wayne’s heroic alter ego is moodier than an all-womens meeting at the Westboro Baptist Church during *that* time of the month. But hey, it seems to be working for the good folks of Gotham.

Warner Bros. has today released a handful of new screenshots for Batman: Arkham Origins, the anticipated upcoming prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Set during Batman’s formative years, Arkham Origins will let players control a somewhat darker Dark Knight still trying to prove himself to Gotham as he tackles the likes of Deadpool, Penguin and more on a snowy Christmas eve in Gotham. The game is scheduled to land on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC this October 25th.

Batman: Arkham Origins Promotional Material Reveals Villains

Friday, April 19th, 2013

batman-arkham-origins-art-1 A promotional standee has been spotted for Batman: Arkham Origins, teasing the villains Bats will be facing off against in the upcoming prequel to the mega-popular Akham Asylum and Arkham City games.

It has already been confirmed that Origins, the first Arkham game not developed by Rocksteady (that honour goes to Warner Bros. Montreal), will be taking the fight to Gotham as Batman battles no less than 8 formidable foes on Christmas Eve.

Arkham Origins takes place years before the original Arkham Asylum, casting a much younger Batman in a fight against eight deadly assassins, including popular DC villian, Deathstroke. Black Mask has put a bounty on Batman’s head for reasons unknown, causing the motley crew of villains to all descend upon Gotham in the hopes of taking him out.

Discovered by CVG, the Arkham Orgins standee reveals that The Joker, Scarecrow Bane and Killer Croc will also be making an appearance in the game, with the possibility of Deadshot too. The Penguin has already been mentioned too, so if the promotional material is legit in its reveal, that take the current total of villains to 7 with 1 remaining to be revealed.

Monday, November 19th, 2012

vice-city Grand Theft Auto Vice City has been fully removed from Steam and other digital retailers due to licensing issues.

Apparently, the game was pulled due to it featuring Michael Jackson’s “Wanna be Startin’ Something”. Rockstar didn’t have the licensing rights to include the 80′s tune in the games virtual radio station “Fever 105”.

CinemaBlend has stated that the block is from Sony Music Entertainment saying, “Looks like the block is from Sony Music Entertainment with the claim on a song from Michael Jackson called ‘Wanna be Startin’ Something’ from Vice City’s Fever 105 station. The content from SME and Warner Chappell has blocked the content on copyright grounds.“

Thanks to Game Informer we also know that the issue should not affect the release of the Android and iOS versions of the game. (more…)

5 Ways to Make Arkham City’s Prequel Great

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

bac_logoplate_bws_f1_white_copy By now many of you are aware that the next game in the current Batman series, courtesy of Rocksteady, will be a prequel.

It will also borrow heavily from the “Silver Age” of DC comics, when Batman teamed up with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Superman and The Flash to form the Justice League.

It’s a tactic Warner hope will get the group refamiliarised with the general public in time for the upcoming film, scheduled for a 2015 release.

As with any major evolution of a franchise, a large degree of change will have to occur to accommodate the new hires – and with them comes the chance of major pratfalls or major strides. Here’s a few T1 believe will make this silver-aged flavoured outing sterling instead of nickel.
