Developer Wizarbox reveals the challenges of recreating Captain Morgane’s adventure in pure and beautiful HD!
Wizarbox are well-known for bringing premier adventure games to life. Recently completing Gray Matter and following up So Blonde with Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle on the Playstation 3, PC, Wii and DS, they know what makes a really great game!
Teaming up again with BAFTA nominated adventure game writer, Steve Ince, they’ve created a game that captures the essence of what it was like 300 years ago in the tropical but deadly waters of the Caribbean.
Fabien Bihour, Wizarbox CEO said, “We wanted to build on the success of So Blonde with a character we grew to love – Morgane Castillo. But more than that, we wanted to build a world which was a worthy partner to Steve’s great storyline and script.” (more…)

The latest Legend of Zelda title has been award 40/40 by Japanese gaming bible Famitsu.
Skyward Sword is the 16th game to achieve this score in the magazine’s history, and the first 2011 title to do so, according to Andriasang.
It is also the third entry in the series to receive the perfect 40/40 from Famitsu, following Ocarina of Time back in 1998 and The Wind Waker in 2002. (more…)

Last October Marvel and Activision announced a brand new X-Men title that would be free from a movie tie-in. It has taken 11 months, but we finally have a launch trailer.
A new breed of mutant heroes will invade game consoles this autumn in X-Men: Destiny. The all-new original video game casts players as new mutant recruits in a rich, branching storyline that features a deep element of choice and gives players ultimate control of their destiny.

Nintendo has released a new trailer giving a brief glimpse at the Upgrade system for the upcoming Zelda title, Skyward Sword.
Zelda games are renowned for being deep games but this new feature adds yet more depth. Whilst killing enemies or exploring through the wilderness, Link will come across artifacts and other handy items which he can store for his next visit to the bazaar.

The Legend of Zelda was first released on the Nintendo Entertainment System a quarter of a century ago this year, and to help celebrate this occasion Nintendo are releasing a limited edition pre-order bundle for the latest instalment in The Legend of Zelda franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
2011 is the year of Zelda with Nintendo celebrating 25 years since the beginning of the critically-acclaimed franchise.
A limited edition bundle of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword features the game itself, the music CD featuring selected songs from The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony and a golden Wii Remote Plus controller bearing the Hylian Crest.

It was confirmed at Comic-Con, that the latest Spiderman game will be released on October 4th.
Spidey will be swinging his way onto PS3, Xbox, Wii and 3DS in the latest Marvel game.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time will task players with saving the life of Peter Parker in the modern-day Spider-Man universe in order to prevent an errant timeline from creating a bleak, apocalyptic future. The game will feature “cause-and-effect” gameplay, where one Spider-Man action will affect the other Spider-Man’s timeline. (more…)

It seems like every month I start at least one of my reviews by pointing out how the gaming industry has gone back to its roots, putting me firmly in retro heaven.
This month is no different, with yet another classic seeing a modern day revamp. This time is the turn of everyone’s favourite hungry little pink beach ball, Kirby.
Kirby’s Epic Yarn starts in Dream Land, where, as usual, Kirby is on the hunt for something to eat. He stumbles upon an odd looking tomato and, just as he is about to eat it, a strange wizard made out wool appears and sucks him into a magic sock. Fo’real.
When he wakes up, Kirby find himself in a land made entirely out of cloth, buttons and all manner of other things you would expect find in a hobby craft store. What’s more, he appears to been turned into wool himself.

Let it be known that this humble writer is no tennis aficionado.
Beyond recognising names like Federer, Nadal and Murray, and catching the occasional match while channel flicking between cartoons, my real world knowledge of tennis is little-to-none. But, without even really knowing much about the sport, Top Spin 4 just ‘feels’ right, and from the moment you play your first match, tennis fan or not, you’ll find it hard to disagree.
2K Czech’s latest tennis sim is one of those games that just seems to nail everything it needs too. It’s a tennis game that looks up to nobody, and why would it? Although it classes itself as a “simulator”, Top Spin 4 is actually an easily accessible, fantastically put together gameplay experience that expertly marries technical ability with pot luck chance.
