Iconic ‘90s FPS Doom has returned to Xbox Live Arcade today after being absent for more than a year.
Bethesda has re-uploaded the game to Xbox 360’s online service, and it can be downloaded for 400 Microsoft Points (around £3.50).
Doom originally hit Xbox Live in 2006 via Activision, but developer id Software was acquired by Bethesda parent ZeniMax in 2009. Activision’s rights expired and thus the game was removed in late 2010.
But with Bethesda relaunching Doom on XBLA today, gamers can again take part in online matches, co-op gameplay and leaderboards. (more…)

Lexis Numérique and VectorCell today announced that they will drop the PSN price of AMY in the US to $9.99, which will therefore push the release date back to January 17, 2012.
The delay in release is because changing a price in the PlayStation Store system takes some time because of technical reasons linked to the servers.
This price drop will not affect the release of AMY in the other territories, or on other platforms, as the release date for the XBLA version is still slated for January 11, 2012, for 800 MS points in the US. (more…)

Voltron: Defender of the Universe hits Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow.
Based on the cult Japanese super robot cartoon from the 1980s, Voltron is a 3D mech combat game. The game also features two player offline co-op and five player online co-op, and from the trailer it looks like there’s a top-down shooting section where you all play as robotic lions. Awesome!
The game will set you back 800 Microsoft points.
Voltron was originally scheduled to release in October but was pushed back for unknown reasons.
Also releasing tomorrow is Double Fine’s long-delayed Iron Brigade (or Trenched in the US), which will be available for 1200 Microsoft points. (more…)
